Tour the Political Core of D.C.

Enjoy the arts of the US Capitol and Library of Congress with our two-hour tour focused on the statues of Emancipation Hall and the murals of the Library of Congress. After passing through security at the US Capitol Visitors Center entrance, Terry will take the small group around to select statues in Emancipation Hall to discuss how each state selected the artist, and person of interest to be displayed at the US Capitol.

Next, Terry will walk the group over to the Library of Congress to show Mezzanine Gallery, Minerva Mosaic, Great Reading Room, and Thomas Jefferson’s Library. Learn about the early history of the Library of Congress and how the library is maintained by Congress. Next, visit the second floor to get a glimpse of rare Gutenberg and Mainz bibles at the Bible Gallery. Pass by the ornate Great Hall and see the classical architecture and paintings by over 50 famous American artists.

Group will meet at 1st Street and Independence Avenue
The tour takes about 2 hours and covers approximately 1 mile, ending inside the Library of Congress.
