Discover how the nation’s hearts and minds have changed though the decades long struggle for equality in our Nation’s Capital.
This 2 hour walking tour will begin at Lafayette Square Park, head north on 17th Street through downtown DC into the vibrant historically gay neighborhood ending at Dupont Circle – DC’s most beloved park. It is recommended that you bring a cooling beverage, a camera and your curiosity. The goal of this tour is to learn how the gay community evolved from subversive culture to political activists to inclusive family, friends and neighbors.
